Getting Started with Google Apps and Producteev


Yaowsahs! We have high hopes for Producteev, a task management tool that is showing a lot of promise. Unfortunately, it isn't (yet) in the Google Apps Marketplace but we're hopeful that they'll decide to get onboard. Nonetheless, they have pretty good integration with Gmail and Google Calendar, so you'll definitely want to take it for a spin.

It wasn't exactly clear how to go about connecting the dots...so we tossed together a quick how-to video and guide to help you get started.

2. 2-way calendar sync (editing calendar entries doesn't update the task on the Producteev side)

Create a Producteev Account

Head over to Producteev.com

Click the Get it Now button

 

Sign Up: Use Your Google Apps Email Address

Sign up using your Google Apps email address and we would recommend using a different password.

 

Workspace Settings

Once inside, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Workspace settings.

 

GTalk Communication Settings

1. Go to Communication Preferences

2. Enter your Google Apps email address in the GTalk field and click Connect

Important! Log in to your Google Apps account before adding your calendar

 

Select Google Apps Account

Google will ask whether you want to allow access... Of course we do!

 

Grant Access to Producteev

Granting access can be removed later if you decided Producteev isn't working for you.

 

Gmail: Enable Add any gadget by URL

Some of you may already have the Gadgets lab enabled but just in case, check to make sure.
